Job Title: Outdoor Living & Garden Products Assistant
Location: Pugh’s Garden Village, Wenvoe
Hours of work: Part time - 16hrs a week.
Reports to: Outdoor Living Department Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Outdoor Living & Garden Products Assistant to help us create an inspiring shopping experience in our outdoor living department. You will be responsible for maintaining attractive displays, assisting customers with product advice, and supporting the smooth running of the department, which includes garden furniture, barbecues, outdoor heating, decorative features, and other lifestyle products.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked outdoor living product displays.
- Assist customers with product information, usage advice, and recommendations.
- Help with stock control, including unloading deliveries, pricing, and merchandising.
- Assemble display items such as garden furniture or BBQs for showroom presentation.
- Monitor product quality and report any damage or issues.
- Support promotional events and seasonal displays.
- Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed, including safe manual handling.
- Operate tills or process sales as required.
Requirements
- Good knowledge or interest in outdoor living products, garden lifestyle trends, or home décor.
- Physically fit and able to handle large or heavy items safely.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in product presentation.
- Able to work well in a team and independently.
- Previous retail or merchandising experience (desirable but not essential).
Hours & Pay
- Part-time– may include weekends and bank holidays.
- Pay: from £10.00 to £12.21 per hr, in line with the minimum wage
