Product Merchandising Assistant

Across Two Locations - Radyr, Cardiff & Wenvoe, Vale of Glamorgan

Hours: Full Time 
Location: Covering Two Sites 
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience 
Travel: Regular travel required between locations. 

Job Purpose 

To support the effective merchandising, stock management and presentation of products across two locations. The role is responsible for ensuring products are displayed attractively, stock levels are maintained, promotional activity is implemented correctly, and product performance is monitored to support sales growth and customer satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for retail presentation, creativity and delivering high visual standards.  

Key Responsibilities 

Product Merchandising 

  • Ensure products are displayed in accordance with company merchandising standards. 

  • Maintain attractive and effective product presentations across both locations. 

  • Implement seasonal displays, promotions and product launches. 

  • Monitor product layouts and recommend improvements to maximise sales opportunities. 

  • Ensure pricing, signage and promotional materials are accurate and up to date. 

Stock Management 

  • Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements. 

  • Work closely with store teams to maintain product availability. 

  • Assist with stock counts and inventory checks. 

  • Support stock transfers between locations where required. 

  • Identify slow-moving stock and recommend actions to improve sell-through. 

Sales & Performance Monitoring 

  • Analyse sales data and identify trends and opportunities. 

  • Produce reports on product performance and stock levels. 

  • Support forecasting and planning activities. 

  • Assist in evaluating the success of promotional activities. 

Store Support 

  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues across both locations. 

  • Respond to merchandising and stock-related queries. 

  • Support new product introductions and range reviews. 

  • Assist with store changes, refits and merchandising projects. 

  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to Retail Shop Assistants to ensure merchandising standards, product knowledge and stock control procedures are consistently maintained. 

  • Support the induction and development of new team members in line with company policies and operational procedures. 

  • Deliver refresher training to existing Retail Shop Assistants, ensuring colleagues remain up to date with merchandising best practices, promotional activity, stock management processes and customer service expectations. 

  • Monitor compliance with merchandising standards and provide guidance and feedback to support continuous improvement. 

  • Act as a point of contact for store teams, promoting best practice and sharing knowledge across both locations. 

  • Supporting the display team with the implementation of key seasonal displays 

 

Administration 

  • Maintain accurate merchandising and product records. 

  • Update pricing and product information within company systems. 

  • Complete merchandising reports and documentation as required. 

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

Essential 

  • Previous experience in a retail, merchandising or stock control environment. 

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. 

  • A creative eye with a strong flair for seasonal design and sharp attention to detail 

  • Understanding of merchandising principles and visual presentation. 

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on working environment. 

  • The ability to collaborate with store and display teams to keep displays fresh and products showcased beautifully 

  • Full driving licence and ability to travel between locations. 

 

 

Desirable 

  • Experience of executing seasonal displays that captivate customers. 

  • Experience within garden, lifestyle or seasonable products is an advantage 

  • Knowledge of EPOS and stock management systems. 

  • Experience analysing sales and stock reports.
