Location: Pugh's Nursery & Warehouse, Gypsy Lane, Caerphilly 
Hours: 38 hours 
Salary: from £33,000pa depending on experience
Hours of work: Sunday- Monday as per rota

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team at our Caerphilly site. The successful candidate will oversee all logistics operations across our sites, lead a team of drivers, and ensure efficient stock replenishment and timely deliveries for our customers, all while maintaining a high level of safety and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Management: Lead, manage, and support a team of drivers responsible for deliveries to customers and other sites, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.
• Logistics Coordination: Ensure timely stock replenishment and manage stock movement across all sites in line with customer expectations and company targets.
• Warehouse Management: Oversee the Caerphilly off-site warehouse, ensuring proper management of stock, seasonal changes, and event-specific stock.
• Delivery & Stock Replenishment: Coordinate deliveries to meet deadlines and stock replenishment requirements while maintaining high accuracy in stock levels and customer satisfaction.
• Vehicle Maintenance & Housekeeping: Ensure all vehicles are regularly maintained and well-kept. Take responsibility for vehicle inspections MOT’s Tax etc., repairs, and cleanliness.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, including vehicle safety checks and site safety protocols.
• Efficiency & Space Management: Maximise the efficient use of space in the warehouse and ensure all stock is stored and moved effectively to meet operational needs.
• Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and development for drivers and logistics staff, maintaining high standards of performance, safety, and customer service.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in logistics management, ideally within a retail, garden centre, or distribution environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in overseeing a team of drivers or logistics staff.
• Sound understanding of stock management, vehicle maintenance, and warehouse operations.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in logistics and transport.
• Full UK driving license (ideally including Category C+E) and experience in managing fleet vehicles.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs.
